American Legion Family Christmas Party 2025

The Bagley American Legion, Irvin Blix Post 16, held their December monthly meeting aka the Annual Christmas Party on Wednesday December 17, hosted by the Post. Several ladies of the Auxiliary provided the desserts and treats.

In attendance was Eugene Sandberg WWII veteran who will very soon be celebrating his 102 birthday.

Following the social hour, Commander Jeremy Swenson opened the meeting, commenced with required procedural items on the agenda, then introduced Linda Dvorak, Minnesota Department Commander’s , Post 45 (New Prague).

Commander Dvorak’s theme is “Back to the Basics — the Four Pillars.” Her project is the Minnesota Veterans Assistance Fund (Fund 85) and benches and pillars at the new Minnesota Military & Veterans Museum.

Interesting note, Commander Dvorak is married to Mark Dvorak, Past Department Commander (2019-2021), served two years instead of one due to Covid.  They are only the second of husband and wife teams to have served as Department Commanders after Peggy and Carl Moon.  Our own Denise Milton and Dennis Henkemeyer are married but were not when in office(legionnaire.org).
