Jim Paulson from Trail was the recipient of a beautiful, handmade quilt, which was made by the East Polk County Quilts of Valor volunteers.
Since there will not be a Veterans Day program this year, the Quilts of Valor group for East Polk County has decided to award quilts to individuals privately.

The first volleyball game of the season had the Chargers traveling to Warren last Thursday. Game results: Varsity won, JV won, C won, 7-8 Blue won, 7-8 Gold lost Varsity Stats:
Grygla Junior, Andrew Loken, runs one of his touchdowns in last Friday afternoon! Head Coach Wilebski said Loken stood out on both sides of the ball in the game against Blackduck. More photos of the game are on the back page.

“It was a great win to begin the football season. Our kids came out to play in all facets of the game,” commented Head Coach John Wilebski. 
Wade Klema and JJ Solberg both of Gonvick with the record setting pumpkin in Gonvick at 1,990 pounds. Wade, who has ALS, had help from JJ Solberg on this project this last summer. Wade had developed a system of black hoses in his yard and when the sun warmed up the water in the hose he would open the hose and have a very fine mist sprayed over his pumpkin. The day was extra special with the victory as it was his birthday.
A record was set for the largest pumpkin at the Gonvick Pumpkin weigh-off festival.

It’s been five years now since the Chargers first formed a Trap Shooting Team. This year, things are looking a little different, but it might just be the new normal.
