The Lengby Fosston Knightriders Snowmobile Club held its 5th Annual Christmas Shoot-out Radar Run on January 7 and 8, 2017. They were set up on Pine Lake along with the Gerald Dyrdahl Memorial Pine Lake 200.

Sixteen students in grades five through eight from Red Lake County Central attended the 2017 Creativity Festival. It was held at Bemidji State University on Thursday, January 5.
