Goodridge/Grygla students travel to many historical sites

The Grygla and Goodridge 6th graders each had their class trips recently. Both schools headed to Minneapolis/St. Paul for a few days and each class took in a lot of sites.

The kids have been busy fundraising all year for this trip – anticipating it to say the least!

Stops included the Charles Lindbergh House in Little Falls and a tour of Alexander Ramsey’s House in St. Paul, which is now a historical museum where the first governor of the Minnesota territory lived in the late 1800’s. Other stops included Fort Snelling, the MN History Center, Mill City Museum, a Minnesota Twin’s game and the Oliver Kelley Farm. The Oliver H. Kelley Homestead is in Elk River and is maintained by the Minnesota Historical Society as a living history farm with interpreters giving people a taste of what Oliver Kelley’s life was like on the farm in the 1850’s frontier.
