Clearbrook Veterans Memorial dedication held

The weather held out for the dedication of the Veterans Memorial in Clearbrook during the All-School Reunion. Work was being done up to the last day for the dedication. $60,000 has been spent getting it done to this point. The group in charge has plans to add pathways up to the area, handicap accessible ramps and a small pavilion for people to sit to honor the lost veterans and those who served our country.
Rolf Anderson started thinking about a memorial five years ago after returning from the last all-school reunion to his home in Colorado. He spoke with George Postier and it was not until a couple of years ago that they really got serious about getting the project off the ground. The Clearbrook Veterans Memorial Committee sent out forms with a drawing of the memorial to several people. They were looking for contributions for tribute bricks and benches for all past and present veterans.
With the contributions and all the special help they received from area groups they were able to do a tremendous amount on their vision. Jay Jones did the Memorial Design; Gustafson and Goudge did the preliminary ground work and all concrete work with Dylan Goudge, Paul Nelson and all C & G employees who worked on the project; Andy Ness and all Ness Granite employees who worked on the project; Brad Bjerke with Bjerke Sod; Jeff Jorgenson donated all sand, gravel and black dirt; Hill River Electric with Richard Hetland who did all the electricial requirements; Tim Allen and all T&K employees who worked on the project. Others who helped were Barkman Concrete Limited, Clearwater Life Center, Gonvick, Larry Westrum, Tom Anderson, Austin Postier, Russell Lembke and Dan Johnson.
Any donations are being accepted by the Clearbrook American Legion.
