Students of the month honored

Clearbrook-Gonvick May High School Students of the Month!
We are proud as a faculty to announce Elliot Dickey as student of the month for grades 10-12 and Kendehl Ballard from grades 7-9.
ELLIOT DICKEY is the son of Howard and Cathy Dickey. He has an older brother, Mason. Elliot is an active member of Student Council and National Honor Society. He is also a distance runner on the 2015 Track and Field Team. His favorite class at Clearbrook-Gonvick is Pre-Calculus with Mr. Vettleson. Elliot likes that the teachers get to know the students and can communicate with them in a sociable way. He enjoys running, square baling, and procrastinating and aspires to be an Olympic distance runner. He does have a fall back plan of a profession in agronomy in case the whole Olympic thing does not pan out!

A word on Elliot from his teachers…
“Elliot is polite and respectful.” “Elliot can be fearless in a fun way.” “Elliot is highly energetic and motivated. He is a very kind and considerate person.” “Elliot always gives maximum effort, is very respectful of other students and staff, and always completes topnotch work” “Elliot's positive leadership supports not only academics but all areas he is involved with. His volunteer work in iMPACT, Student Council, National Honor Society, and off campus involvements builds community. Elliot has been a role model for many younger students in the building for the past several years. His enthusiasm for networking many groups together brings a unity that raises the bar for all to aspire to. Elliot brings voice to many causes and follows through on what he commits to.“ “Elliott is a great leader in his class. He is always willing to help other students out. He is a very hard worker and takes great pride in all the he does and always has a great attitude even when things are not going very well. He is just a super positive kid!” “Elliot is a talented young man. His energy is very contagious and his quiet confidence is motivational to those around him. Elliot is not afraid to take on any task and give it everything he's got. His positive "can do" attitude is appreciated by his peers.” “Elliot is an exemplary student who carries himself with class and integrity at all times. His work ethic is unmatched and he never settles for less than his best. His leadership and character make this school a better place, because not only is he successful himself, but he also does his best to make others around him better as well.” Congratulations, Elliot!

KENDEHL BALLARD is the daughter of Vell and Elsie Ballard. She is the youngest of five sisters and two brothers. Kendehl enjoys anything related to reading and plays X-Box in her free time. In fact, her favorite class at Clearbrook-Gonvick is English. Outside of the classroom, she is involved in Student Council, iMPACT, and band. She is also a member of the Bears Volleyball Team. Kendehl enjoys Clearbrook-Gonvick School because she is able to know everyone and likes how close she is with her class. She states, “Most people are inclusive here.” She hopes to be involved with technology, maybe working for Microsoft or an IT division in a corporation in the future.

A word about Kendehl from her teachers…
“Kendehl is hardworking and dedicated.” “Kendehl takes an immense amount of pride in her work and is always willing to go the extra mile to help others.” “Kendehl Ballard stands out among her peers by moving above and beyond that which is required. She stands strong for what she believes in by going to meetings off campus for causes she supports. She then gathers information to educate other students in meetings. Her follow through is next to none as she again goes above and beyond with her artistic talent to create posters, brochures, and gives voice to that which she is trying to raise awareness about. Kendehl gives voice to iMPACT and Student Council. Her strengths help stabilize any project she is involved with.” “Kendehl is a pleasure to have in class. She is always very pleasant and says "Hello" whenever I see her in the hallway. Kendehl is very helpful in what ever needs to be done and is very well respected by her classmates.” “Kendehl has a strong creative vision and is very good at visually interpreting projects and assignments. Here energy carries a team effort and her vision makes that effort a success.” “Kendehl is a selfless student who puts others before herself. She seems to be active in just about everything at school, and excelling in all of them. She improves the environment of the classroom with her attitude and character.” Congratulations, Kendehl!
