Services for Virginia Hanson

Virginia Hanson, 87 of Crookston, MN passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015 at the Villa St. Vincent Senior Home in Crookston.

Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at 11:00 AM at Johnson Funeral Service Chapel in Red Lake Falls, MN with Reverend Jonathan Dodson Officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Virginia Hanson was born September 29, 1927 daughter of the late Claude and Malvina (Pumarlo) Masters at Burke County, ND. She was raised in the Minot area and attended rural school. Virginia worked for a Doctor in Kenmare, ND.

On October 27, 1946 Virginia was united in marriage to Harry Hanson at Bowbells, ND. The couple lived there until 1967 then moved to Mentor, MN. She was a homemaker raising her 5 children and worked for a short time at Arctic Cat in Thief River Falls, MN. She loved her family especially her 12 grandchildren that would spend several weeks at her home in the summer.

Virginia enjoyed spending time with her friends at the casino, spending time in her flower gardens and vegetable garden along with canning and freezing, and she enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends.

Virginia is survived by her loving children Lester (Cookie) Hanson if Lisle, IL, Virginia Anderson of Plymouth, MN,   Vivian (Tom) Hall of Crookston, MN and Jerome (Sherry) Hanson of Mentor, MN and daughter-in-law Wanda Hanson of Plummer, MN; grandchildren Leslie (Brett) Hawkes, Shelly Henn, Kathy Hanson, Nicole (Ryan) Johnson, Jamie Anderson, Stephanie (Theo) Klamm, Michael (Naomi) Hanson, Aaron (Melissa) Hall, Micah (Heather) Hall, Stacy (Jim) Bowman, Timothy (Brooke) Hanson, Beth (Chad) Peterson, Christopher (Imelda) Haugen, LeAnn Haugen, Jennifer Haugen, Andrea Haugen: great-grandchildren Logan, Ashleigh, Jacob, Lorelei,  Aidanne, Deshawn, Zaria, Lindsey, Evelyn, Willa, Wynn, Preston, Audrey, MaKenna, Lucas, Caleb, Lilly, Cole, Lexi, Reed, Brennen, Gracey, Brecken, and Alexander; sisters-in-law Lorraine Liebl of Billings, MT and Ethel Jesperson of Bismarck, ND along with several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Harry April 15, 1996, son Lee Hanson March 17, 2014, son-in-law Steve Anderson October 16, 2006; sibling brothers Glenwood, Garfield, John, Lawrence, Chet, Nick and sisters Myrtle Martin, and Dorothy Martin.
