Services for Dianne Dee Kays

 

Dianne Dee Kays, Thief River Falls, MN, age 56, died Saturday, August 22, 2015 at her residence in Thief River Falls, MN

 

Funeral service will be at 10:30 AM on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Reverend Mark Helgeland and Reverend Ben Carlsen Officiating. Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls, MN.

 

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 from 5 – 8 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

 

Dianne Dee Boese was born January 10, 1959 at St. Paul, MN daughter of Arthur R. and Regina A. (Schultze) Boese. She was baptized at Jehovah Lutheran in St. Paul, MN in 1959 and confirmed at Bethel Lutheran Church in Greenbush, MN in 1974. She attended High School at Greenbush, MN graduating in 1977. She then attended Northland Community College in Thief River Falls and the University of North Dakota graduating in 1985 with a BS in Information Management.

 

On August 30, 1980 she was united in marriage to Tom Kays at Bethel Lutheran Church in Greenbush, MN. The couple made their home in Thief River Falls and to this union two sons were born, Jonathan and Brian. She loved raising her two sons and being a full time mom. Dianne began her career as a Travel Agent in Thief River Falls. While working, she met Tom on a blind date. She was a volunteer at NW Medical Center in the Therapy Department. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, reading, volunteering, counted cross stitch, sewing, all family activities, and was an avid Fighting Sioux Fan. She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church, the Altar Guild, WELCA President, Christian Education Chair, and Sunday school teacher. She was also President of the Thief River Falls Swim Club. She fund-raised and spearheaded the 1st Challenger Playground. In 1999 Dianne was Northland Community and Technical College Alumnus of the year in 2008 and was Independent School District 564 Volunteer of the year 2000.

 

Dianne is survived by her husband Tom of Thief River Falls, MN; sons Jonathan of Madison, WI and Brian of St. Paul, MN; parents Arthur and Regina Boese of Greenbush, MN; siblings Julia (Donovan) Bremer of Wilbert, MN and Robert (Kathy) Boese of Fargo, ND and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her grandparents and Tom’s parents Phil and Bev Kays.  

 

In Lieu of Flowers, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society, Sanford TRF Foundation, or Redeemer Lutheran Church.
