Services for Winton Lindberg

Winton Lindberg, 88, died on December 21, 2018 at the Martin Luther Care Center at Bloomington, MN.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2018 at 12:00 noon at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley, MN with the Reverend Robert Kirchman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Oak Park Lutheran Cemetery in Weme, MN.
Winton was born on August 7, 1930 at Clearbrook, MN the son of Melvin and Ella (Johnson) Lindberg. He honorably served our country in the Air Force from 1951 – 1955. He lived in Clearbrook for 21 years, St. Paul for a year and Bloomington for 62 years. Winton worked for Zeigler Caterpillar for 38 years, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed Skiing, motor cycling and camping. He was a member of VFW in Bloomington, a member of Christ the King Church and a member of the Uller Ski Club. Winton was a loving and caring father. He passed on his extensive handyman knowledge and qualities. For example; When his son Lauren was 14 or 15, he gave him a box of new auto parts (shocks) and pointed to his car and said “Go find where these are located and replace them.” Of course, he watched his son through the whole process, and gave him input now and then, to assist in getting it done right and safe. He taught his son how to hunt and hunt safely. Winton showed the family the joys of travel and camping, and he introduced his son to the joys of skiing. Winton was there to bail his son out if he needed help. He taught his son financial responsibility, a real chore for them. Lauren stated that it was because of his father that his son excelled in this life.
He is survived by his son – Lauren Lindberg of Austin, Texas
Daughter – Robin Lindberg of Bloomington, MN
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Violet Siefert.
