Services for Wilford (Bud) Julian Sorenson

Wilford (Bud) Julian Sorenson was born November 14, 1922 in Grygla, MN to Mollie and Melvin
Sorenson. He passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on January 22, 2016 at
the age of 93. Growing up there he met and married the love of his life Irene Sletten and eventually
moved to Minneapolis where he worked at a couple of steel plants and sometimes part time as a
mechanic.

After a few years they and their four children made their way to Lindstrom, MN where Bud built his
farm from scratch with his own hands. It was hard and humble work, but Bud was proud of what he
had achieved and built for his family and future generations. During this time he worked for MNDot.
When he retired from there he got a job working with Irene at Hazelton in Center City.

In later years Bud retired, but kept busy with various projects in the garage and the yard of their 40 acre
farm. He loved classic cars and could fix anything with a motor, and was always looking for ways to
improve upon everyday objects. He loved to visit with friends and have “forenoon coffee” with his
loved ones. Volunteering was also important to Bud, as he volunteered for Family pathways and the
local food shelf. Bud was a proud and longtime member of the Mason's and was Grand Master for a
few years.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Melvin and Molly, brothers: Raymond and Myron (Jack),
sisters: Katherine, Inez, Myra and Lillian, and grandson Jared

He is survived by his beloved wife Irene, children Camie, Michelle, Paul and Tim, 10 grandchildren,
and 7 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of his life was held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lindstrom, Minnesota.  Visitation was one hour prior to the service at church.
