Services for Valerie Mae Baie

Valerie Mae Baie, age 58, died unexpectedly at her home in Burbank, WA, on August 21, 2017. Valerie was born in Roseau, MN, on August 5, 1959, to parents Willard “Gordy” and Delores “Toots” Walker Saul. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and was a member of  Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla, MN. She graduated from Grygla High School in 1979.

She married Wayne Hanson in Grygla in December 1979, where they farmed and raised pigs. Later on they divorced, but remained friends. She moved to Washington State. Valerie married Craig Baie in Burbank, Washington, on September 17, 2002. She managed a restaurant in Burbank. Valerie was a hard worked, a wonderful cook, kept a spotless hours, and loved her beautiful rose bushes and yard. Valerie and Craig were very involved with their two neighbor children, Sissy and Junior’s lives... who they loved like their own. They and their family were very special to Valerie and Craig. Later on, Craig was involved in a serious work accident in which she cared for Craig until her death. Valerie loved animals, especially her pot belly pig, her two poodles and her rooster.

Valerie is survived by her husband, Craig, mother Delores and brother Wayne Saul of Warroad, MN; aunt Opal Boisjolie of Coon Rapids, MN, uncle Alton Walker of Bagley, MN, and aunt and uncle Jim and Nevina Walker also from Bagley, MN; ex-sister-in-law Phyllis and her children Dylon, TJ, and Ali and her baby Mollie Jean; along with numerous cousins.

Valerie was preceded in death by her father Willard “Gordy” Saul; her grandparents Bill and Signe Saul, and Lewis and Mae Walker; Uncle Wayne Saul; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held for Valerie next week in Burbank, WA. She had a memorial service on August 25th with her Aunt Adonna Ziegler at Cease Family Funeral Home in Bagley, MN.
