Susan was born on October 12, 1945, in Clearwater County at the Bagley Hospital. She grew up in the Berner area and graduated from Gonvick High School in 1963. After graduation, Susan was employed in Montana for a year, then returned to Grand Forks where she attended St. Joseph’s School of Hair Design. During that time, she was united in marriage to David Paulson, and they started their family. They had three boys, Mike, Darren and Jason. Sue and David later divorced.
When Sue’s family moved to Clearbrook, Sue was employed at the Good Samaritan Center. She loved the residents there and they became like family to her. Sue worked there until her retirement. After retirement, she worked part time at the Pipers Inn in Clearbrook, MN.
Sue loved springtime. Her flowers were her passions. Sue was always willing to help someone in need. She never forgot a family member’s birthday which is pretty amazing for a family the size of Sue’s. Susan entered Cornerstone Assisted Living in 2021 and recently was admitted to Cornerstone Nursing Home in Bagley, Minnesota.
