Services for Stanley Lowell Ask

Stanley Lowell Ask, 82, of Gonvick, MN died on December 2, 2016 at the Sanford Bagley Medical Center in Bagley, MN.

Funeral services will be held on, Friday, December 9, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at United Lutheran Church in Berner, MN with the Reverend Kris Snyder officiating.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be at the United Lutheran Cemetery in Berner, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.

Stanley was born on October 20, 1934 at Berner, Minnesota the son of Oscar and Cora (Hanson) Ask.  He attended a country school in Berner.  Stanley worked at a water and sewer company in Anoka for 15 years.  He married Marion Sand on December 23, 1955 at Bagley, MN.  In 1970, they bought the family farmstead in Berner from his parents and farmed there for 46 years, where he died peacefully.  He loved fishing and hunting and he was a very good shot.  He was known for telling Ole and Lena jokes.  Marion and Stanley had a place at Rogers Campground at Waskish, MN where they spent a lot of time.  He enjoyed Square dancing and was a member of the Wild Wood Whirlers.  Stanley was also enjoyed snowmobiling and was a member of the Snowmobiling Club Trail Blazer.  He enjoyed playing cards and driving tractors.  Stanley was a member of the United Lutheran Church in Berner, serving on church boards and also being a Deacon of the church.  Stanley served as a board member of the Gully Co-op.  They spent the last 10 years traveling south for the winter in Bullhead City, AZ also traveling around the country and took two cruises.  His dogs were very dear to him. 

He is survived by his wife - Marion Ask of Gonvick, MN

Son – Michael Ask of Phoenix, AZ

Son – Steven (Barry Haller) Ask of Apple Valley, MN

Son – Daniel (Paula Woolley) Ask of Big Lake, MN

Brother – Kenneth (Helen) Ask of Richfield, MN

Grandson – Ryan

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister Lorraine.
