Services for Shirley Ann Ellen Colligan
Shirley Ann Ellen Colligan, 82, of Bagley, MN died on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center in Bemidji, MN.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Bagley City Cemetery in Bagley, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with the arrangements.
She was born August 3, 1933 to John and Helma (Hall) Tangen in Erskine, Minnesota. She graduated from Gonvick High School as Valedictorian in 1951. She moved to Bagley and began working for the First National Bank of Bagley, where she worked for over 40 years. In 1958, on October 18th, she was united in marriage to William “Bud” Colligan in Gonvick, MN. They were married 34 years before he passed away in 1992.
Shirley was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, and always looked forward to Tuesday cards with her friends. She liked to travel; she and Bud would use their vacation to go West to Rodeos, and she had good memories of her trip to Europe with her sister and brother-in-law. Shirley liked to ride horseback and loved her dogs when she had them. She was a wonderful and loving aunt and great aunt and will be missed.
She is survived by her sister, Beverly (Vern) Hamnes; her brothers-in-law, Kenneth Poole and Lee (Kathy) Colligan); and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Helma Tangen; her husband, William “Bud” Colligan; and her sister, Donna.
