George, Sharon Evonne (nee Swanson) age 79, of Minneapolis, MN passed away peacefully July 20, 2022 in Lake Worth, FL. Sharon was born January 27, 1943 to Julian and Esther Swanson in McIntosh, MN.
Sharon moved to Minneapolis shortly after graduation and lived and worked there for many years until moving to WPB., FL in November of 2016. She worked for many years at Loring Nicollet Bethlehem Community Center helping people find jobs, apartments, and many resources to help them advance in their lives. She loved her work and the people she helped so much and often said how fulfilling it was to her. She attended Salem English Lutheran Church for many years and in later years was a long-standing member of Aldrich Avenue Presbyterian Church as well as a much-loved greeter and Deacon in her church. Sharon will be remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness and her love of family, friends, neighbors and her church family but most importantly for her love of the Lord Jesus Christ and her gratitude for all of the blessings He has bestowed on her.
Preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Esther Swanson; brother, Roger Swanson; son-in-law Timothy Weisz, and many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by her children; Debra Weisz and Wendy Gard both of Lake Worth, FL.; grandchildren, Christina Arlotta (Craig), Carrie Weisz, Timothy Weisz, Charles Gard III, Cassidy Lopez (Carlos) and Shelby Gard; great-grandchildren, Austin Arlotta, Craig Arlotta, Carlos Lopez and Cianna Lopez; sister-in-law, Anita (Swanson) Kappedal; nephews, Jesse Swanson and Brett Swanson.
Services will be held at the following 2 locations: Tues., October 4th at Aldrich Avenue Presbysterian Church 3501 Aldrich Avenue, Mpls. at 3:00 pm AND Thursday, October 6th at Asphult Cemetery, McIntosh, MN at 2:00 pm. with a light lunch to follow each service
