Services for Ruthann Crepeau

Ruthann Crepeau, 73, died on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at her home in Clearbrook, MN.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Bemidji, MN with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Bagley City Cemetery, in Bagley, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.

She was born on September 2, 1943 in St. Cloud, MN to Floyd and Arlie (Updike) Allen. She moved with her family in 1953 to Columbia Heights, MN and graduated from Columbia Heights High School with the class of ’61. She was united in marriage to Dale Crepeau in Minneapolis, MN on January 6, 1962. They later moved to Clearbrook, MN in the spring of 1971, where Dale worked at Arctic Cat. Around the Clearbrook area, Ruthann worked for 10 years at the Piper’s Inn Motel, worked part-time for a few seasons at the Rice Plant, and ran a day care out of their home for over 6 years. She volunteered for the Food Shelf and Meals on Wheels for the Clearbrook, Senior Citizen Center for many years. She also was an avid member of the Clearbrook Community Pool, where she loved to spend her mornings swimming.

Ruthann loved gardening, both vegetables and flowers. She had an amazing green thumb, and would even grow flowers and plants from cuttings in the house. She loved to work with textiles, whether it was sewing, knitting, crocheting, or needle point. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed being a member of the Quilters Club. Ruthann was an outdoors woman. Between camping with her family at Voyageurs National Park, fishing on Lake of the Woods or the secret spots around her home, and deer hunting in the fall, she couldn’t get enough of being outside. Above all though, Ruthann was a doting and loving grandmother. Her family was her everything. She will be tremendously missed.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Dale Crepeau; her children, Brad (Cheryl) Crepeau, Brenda (Dean) Shaver, Beverly (Michael) Evans, and Bonnie (Jeff) Bowman; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; her brothers, David Allen and Richard Allen; and many beloved other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Arlie Allen; an infant daughter, Brianne; and her brother, Floyd Allen, Jr.

Blessed be her memory.
