Services for Ronald “Ronnie” Bestul

Ronald “Ronnie” Bestul, age 36, of Winger, MN, died Saturday, February 24, 2018, at his home.

Ronald LeRoy Bestul, the son of LeRoy and Joyce (Askelson) Bestul, was born in Ada, MN, on February 16, 1982.   He grew up, along with three older sisters, on a farm near Winger, MN.  As a child, Ronnie was baptized and confirmed at Faaberg Lutheran Church, Rindahl, MN.  As far back as anyone can remember, he was always taking things apart and putting them back together.  He tackled lawnmowers, snowmobiles, 3 wheelers, cars, and anything with a motor.  Ronnie always had a passion for mechanics and auto body work, which he devoted his career to.  Over the years, he also helped family and area neighbors with fall harvest and hauling grains.  Ronnie enjoyed racing snowmobiles in the winter and demo cars in the summer! He was extremely proud of his restored cars, especially his mustang. Ronnie enjoyed spending time with family, just hanging out. He was always a prankster, with a contagious laugh. Ronnie was a great cook, known for smoking and grilling meats. He enjoyed playing baseball & pool, shopping trips to Menards and playing darts with his dart league.  He had a special bond with his great-nephew, Kaiden.  Ronnie had a kind heart and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Ronnie is survived by his mom, Joyce of Fertile, MN; sister, Jackie (DelRay) Rux of Holt, MN;  nephews: Steven (Gabriel) Courneya of Erskine, MN, and Rueben (Tracey) Fritsch of Winger, MN; nieces: Jessica (Ben) Horgeshimer of Crookston, MN, and Shandelle (Branden) Sherer of Winger, MN; great-nephews: Kaiden Sherer, Tracen Fritsch, Gabe Horgeshimer, and Isaiah Horgeshimer; great-nieces: Isabel Horgeshimer, Nevaeh Fritsch, Kinzley Sherer, Brooklyn Courneya and Courtney Fritsch. He was preceded in death by his dad, LeRoy; two sisters: Patty and Jody; and grandparents: Jr. & Ovedia Askelson and Peder & Agnes Bestul.

A Funeral Service was held at 10:00 am on Saturday, March 3, 2018, at Faaberg Lutheran Church in Rindahl, MN.  Visitation took place one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be held in Faaberg Lutheran Cemetery in the spring.
