Robert “Bobby” Watkins, age 59, of Erskine, MN, passed away on Thursday, August 15th, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23rd, at the Carlin Funeral Home in Erskine with Pastor Jim Binder officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery, Erskine. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Robert “Bobby” was born on December 7, 1964, in Fort Worth, Texas to Robert Sr and Verlene (Hanson) Watkins. He grew up in Erskine and graduated from Erskine High School in 1983. Following high school, he attended Northland Community College in Thief River Falls for welding. He worked at American Wood in Grand Forks, Ryan Potato Company in East Grand Forks and for many years at MDV in Fosston. He also spent a couple of years in Texas where his uncle and aunt live.
Bobby loved fishing, going on many trips with his friends. The yearly fishing trip was always a highlight for him. He also loved watching the Minnesota Vikings and enjoyed cats and dogs.
Bobby passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at his home in Erskine at the age of 59 years.
He is survived by his mother, Verlene “Vicki” Aaker of McIntosh, MN; brother, Ryan Aaker of Crookston, MN; uncles, Roger (Pam) Hanson of Wichita, KS and Russ (Connie) Hanson of Arlington, TX; and aunt, Vivian Hanson of McIntosh; and three aunts from Texas, Carolyn, Thelma and Gail. Several cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Watkins, Sr; maternal grandparents, Arvid and Ruth Hanson; and his paternal grandparents.
