Richie D. Langseth, 62, of Leonard, MN died on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at his home in his sleep.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Leonard, MN with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Reverend Bob Kirchman will be officiating and Military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post #256 of Clearbrook, MN. Interment will be at Sinclair Cemetery in Leonard, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with the arrangements.

Richie was born on June 25, 1955 in Wolf Point, MT to Glen and Betty (Voxland) Langseth. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. He served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged. On August 15, 1972, Richie was united in marriage to Diane Churness in Milbank, South Dakota. For 20 years, Richie was the owner of the Side Track Tap, home of the famous Richie burger. Prior to that, he spent 12 years in the oil fields of Alaska. Over the years he also mentored and employed many youth, sharing his knowledge and giving them opportunities they otherwise would not have had.

Richie was a proud Norwegian who had many tattoos to show anyone who doubted. He was also so proud of his home town, Leonard. Richie had many interests through the years that he put everything into but usually moved on before long. However, he was always a diehard Harley Davidson, Vikings, and Twins fan. Richie loved music and enjoyed sharing his passion with everyone he met. He enjoyed cooking and hosting get-togethers with all of his special people. Richie was always there to help anyone, whether it was a listening ear, advice (wanted or not), or any support needed. Not only was he supportive of the people in his life, but he loved to support the community he was part of- from sponsoring teams and groups to attending events. Above all these stood family. Richie loved and beamed with pride for his wife, four daughters, and granddaughters, Jade and Jordan. Richie was our go to guy, our rock. He was the backbone to our family and will be missed dearly.

He is survived by his wife, Diane Langseth of Leonard, MN; his daughters, Jenny (Dave) Person of Oklee, MN, Jill Langseth of Leonard, MN, Julie (Viktor) Fredrickson of Leonard, MN, Janelle (Jason) Winterberg of Leonard, MN; his grandchildren, Jade, Jordan, Ricky, and Eli; his mother, Betty Langseth of Leonard, MN; his sisters, Ila Lene of Grand Forks, ND, Lee Ann (Rick) Viktora of Bagley, MN; his in-laws, David (Terri) Churness, Darlene (Steve) Bergman, Debbie (Roger) Opdahl, Danny (Cheryl) Churness, and Donna (Mike) Gifford; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Glen Langseth; his uncles, Larry Voxland, Dale Langseth, Bob Vanderport, and Sonny Voxland; his aunt, Arvilla Erlandson; his sister-in-law, Lori Churness; and his unborn grandchild.
