Services for Rebecca Marie Schaefer Kurtz

Rebecca Marie Schaefer Kurtz (Becka) the daughter of Max and Amy Schaefer, was taken to her Heavenly Father on December 31, 2020.  Becka was born in Saint Paul, MN on November 5, 1967.  She was baptized, confirmed, and married by her Dad.  Becka was a member of Trinity Sauk Rapids. She was baptized at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Saint Paul on August 8, 1967.  She was confirmed at St. Matthew’s Lutheran church in Worthington, MN and was married to Chris Kurtz on October 13, 1990 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Saint Cloud MN.   They had one daughter, Tasha Marie who was born in Saint Cloud on 12/22/1991.   Tasha was the joy of her mother’s life.  She was very proud of Tasha’s accomplishments. 

Becka leaves to mourn her, her daughter, Tasha and her ex husband Chris Kurtz; mother, Amy Schaefer and two brothers, Chris (Stephanie) and Ted (Nancy) and her uncle Harris (Jennifer).  Also many cousins and nieces and a nephew.   Becka was preceded in death by her father, Max Schaefer; both sets of grandparents and her Aunt Judy.    Becka worked many years as an Office Manager and spent time with many of the developmentally disabled clients.  She was dearly loved by her friends and clients.  Becky was a faithful friend and a kind and gentle soul.

Becka lived with much pain and we rejoice that the Lord has now freed her of the pain and taken her unto himself in heaven.  She died of a natural death, not related to COVID.    “Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord

Her internment will be at Immanuel Cemetery, McIntosh, MN next summer.  She will be buried with her Grandparents Henry and Orvilla Bartz, Aunt Judy (Bartz) Pederson and her father Reverend Max Schaefer.
