Phyllis Ann Rhineberger was born on May 11, 1951 in St. Paul, MN.  She was adopted and raised by Hugh and Leone (Cartier) Carlson. She was raised in Thief River Falls, MN, attended Saint Bernard’s Catholic School and Lincoln High School, graduating the class of 1969.

On March 14, 1970 she was united in marriage to Gary Lane at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church. The couple had two children, Jennifer and Michael. She worked as a telephone operator for Northwestern Bell from 1971 until 1976 when she went to work in sales at Diversified Manufactured Housing (Detroiter) in Red Lake Falls, MN.  She then made a career move to an administrative assistant for Moser and Christianson, which later became Brady Martz. In 1990 she began working for Arctic Cat as the administrative assistant to the Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and later was an integral part of the IT department until 2015.

On December 17, 1994 she was united in marriage to Stephen Rhineberger at her mother’s home in Thief River Falls, MN.  After retirement, the couple enjoyed spending time at Pine Lake, traveling, and spoiling their puppies and grandkids.

Philly was an avid reader. She had a passion for history, specifically WWII and politics.   She enjoyed spending time near the water whenever possible.  She had a great love for Tindolph Beach, Maple lake, Pine Lake, or any place she could find a bit of shoreline and a ray sunshine.  She enjoyed traveling for work and play.  She took pleasure in bar bingo and rummage sales with her friends. Philly had a wonderful sense of humor and a contagious laugh.  Blessed are those who have shared in her laughter.  Dogs were a vital part of her.  She found comfort and support in them throughout her life.  She was very proud of all her pets and loved to share them with others.  Most of all she loved and cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Phyllis is survived by her husband Stephen of Gonvick, MN; children Jennifer (Randy) Knott of Thief River Falls, MN and Michael (Trish) Lane of Thief River Falls, MN; step-children Gayle Rhineberger of Denver, IA, Barry (Carrie) Rhineberger of Buffalo, MN; mother-in-law Joyce Rhineberger of Solway, MN; grandchildren Elaina Knott, Anna Knott, Logan Lane, Bryar Lane, Ava Dunn, Dawson Dunn, Ashlyn Rhineberger; sisters Rae (Peter) Michael of Delta, CO, and Erin H. Carlson of Lake Ridge, VA.

Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, sister Jaci Cornett, and father-in-law Glen Rhineberger.

May her memory be blessed.
