Services for Paul Raasch

Paul Raasch, Sr., 72, of Leonard, MN died on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at his residence in Leonard, MN.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley, MN with the Reverend Bob Kirchman officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Clover Cemetery in Leonard, MN.
Paul was born on August 29, 1944 at St. Paul, Minnesota the son of Vernon and Bessie Raasch. He graduated from Harding High School in 1962 in St. Paul, MN. Paul entered the United States Army on July 10, 1967. He spent 2 years of active duty in Vietnam and reached the rank of Staff Sergeant First Class. He was honorably discharged on June 20 1969 and remained in the Active Reserves until 1997. Paul was a steel worker at St. Paul Structural Steel/LaHass Steel until 1989. He moved to the Leonard area in 1993. Paul enjoyed all sports but had a special passion for Hockey. He coached hockey for over 40 years in both St. Paul and Bagley. Paul was an avid fisherman and would fish with anyone, anywhere, anytime. Another passion of Paul’s was to cut grass, he would mow until he ran out of gas. He was very close with the Holmstrom family. They “adopted him” and he became a huge part of the Holmstrom family.
He is survived by his son – Paul Raasch Jr. of Baldwin, WI
Grandson – Tyler Raasch of Shakopee, MN
Sisters – Diane (Curt); Dinna (Dan); and Joan (Bob)
Brother – Ron Raasch
Sisters-in-law – Dianne Raasch and Denise Raasch
Many nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers – Roger and Richard and his sisters – Jerri (Don) and Phyllis (Ed).
