Pat was born November 26, 1933 in Hannaford, North Dakota to parents, R.L.{Piney} and Doris {Bissell} Edwards.  She moved from Fisher, MN when she was in the seventh grade. It was in McIntosh she found the love of her life Sherman.

Following her graduation in 1951, she attended one year of college at Bemidji State University then moving to Minneapolis where she worked at a bank living with her friend Leona.  As the story is told, Sherman would come to Minneapolis on weekends to visit while he was stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.  This long-distance courtship worked, and they were married on May 2, 1953 living in Fort Leonard Wood until moving back to McIntosh in 1954.

Pat raised her 5 children before returning to college to finish her teaching degree.  She graduated from Bemidji in 1972 along with her first born, Kevin, who also graduated from high school the same month.  Pat began teaching in McIntosh and Winger for the next 25 years.  She was well known for her Hawaiian Mother’s Day programs for her first-grade class that continued for the next 15 years after her retirement.  She was even featured in the Grand Forks Herald about the tradition she started many years ago.

Pat was involved in many church and community activities.  Raising money and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Association was a passion of hers.  She started the “Memory Walk” teaming up with Mac Manor and Pioneer Memorial homes.

Survivors include her husband, Sherman, children, Kevin of West Fargo, Cindy{Gordie} Ostenaa of McIntosh, Todd {Lorene} Tranby of McIntosh, Pete {Laura Grant} Tranby of McIntosh and Jill {Jeff} Gunderson of Rice.  Three AFS students also became members of the family.  They include, Jorge Kusumi, Marta Guilherme and Peach Poogaman.  Grandchildren, Cory Tranby, Callie Westby, Alyssa Nornes, Shawn Ostenaa, Tanya Hamre, Nick Ostenaa, Jackie Huschle, Erik Tranby, Elizabeth Lemer, Brandon Tranby, Leah Anderson, Josh Gunderson, Kaila Abel, Andrew Gunderson, and step-grandchildren, Chad Ekeberg, Brenda Ugalde and Lisa Grant.  She is also survived by 33 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law Art and Carol Tranby and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Duane Edwards, sisters, Jackie Tucker and Marilyn Thompson

Blessed be her memory.
