Services for Norval Oien

Norval Oien, age 76, of Bagley, MN passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.  

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bagley, MN. Visitation will be and one hour prior to the services. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.

Norval was born on April 1, 1941 to Morgan and Ruby Oien. Norval was baptized and confirmed at the Zion Lutheran Church in Bagley.

Norval graduated from Bagley High School and joined the Army National Guard from 1960 – 1964. Norval Started driving truck first for Joe Schimdt delivering freight around Bagley. Truck driving was his line of work for many years. His latest was working for Richard Dukek Logging. Stuart and Brett Dukek. He also served many years on the Holst Township Board.

On June 8, 1968, he married Marlene Nordlund.

Survivors are sons, Nathan and Jon of Clearbrook, daughter Niki (Shawn) Groshong of Clearbrook, five grandchildren, Jordan (Hanna) Oien of Bloomington, Brandon and Holden Oien or Clearbrook, Ashley (Jake) Boomgaarden of Grand Forks, Jeremy Groshong of Clearbrook. Brother Roger (Joan) Oien of Stillwater, sisters Sharon (Gaylan) Larson of Halstad, Carol Niewinski of Bagley, Marilyn (Bruce) Nelson of Clearbrook. Also Nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, and uncles.
