Services for Morris Carroll Helgeson
Morris Carroll Helgeson, 82, of Clearbrook, MN, died on Monday, May 1, 2017 at First Care Living Center in Fosston, MN.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Clearbrook, MN. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Norway Lake Cemetery in Leonard, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with the arrangements.
He was born on October 13, 1934 in Parshall, ND to Arne and Clara (Mathison) Helgeson. He moved to Leonard and was raised there. He later moved to Washington and worked in janitorial service in Seattle. In 1960 he began his service in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Germany. There he met Irmgard Kreis. They were united in marriage on July 31, 1963. After his service, he was stationed in Colorado Springs until 1966. They moved back to Clearwater County, where Morris worked at PV Elevators for a few years before starting Lakehead Pipeline in 1969. He retired in 1994 and stayed on the farm until he fell ill. He was a homebody and enjoyed staying in his comfort zone and cutting wood.
He is survived by his son, Wayne Helgeson of Shevlin, MN; his daughters, Laureen Helgeson and Bonnie Hoffman of Washington; and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irmgard Helgeson; his parents, Arne and Clara Helgeson; and his brothers and sisters.
