Services for Millie S. Howard

Millie S. Howard, age 80, of Staples. Passed away unexpectedly at her home on August 28, 2016. 

Millie was born in Pennington County on December 9, 1935 to Sam and Anna (Gunderson) Peterson.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale R. Howard; son, Al; sister, Gladys Snyder; brother, Alvin Peterson; brothers-in-law, Duane (Lavonne) Howard, Bob Skarsten and Melvin Woell; sisters-in-law, Ila (Clarey) Eliason, Ina (Marvin) Burman. She will be deeply missed by her sons, Jerry Howard of Oklee, and Robert Howard of Oklee; daughters, Donna Howard of Chanhassen and Nancy (Mike) Bickford of Coon Rapids; grandchildren, Rob Marshall, Doug (Deya) Marshall, Jaime Howard, Jenni (Chris) Peters, Danielle (Tom) Platz of Sartell; great grandchildren, Sky, Ella, Braden, Rylee, Madison, Kaylee, and Christopher Hunter; sister, Lydia Skarsten; sister-in-law, Eileen Woell; brothers-in-law, Don Snyder and Dwight (Stella) Howard.

Millie enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was also an active member of the Staples United Methodist Church and will be remembered for her work as a Girl Scout Leader and also a Den Mother. Millie spent many hours cooking and sewing for family. Millie also loved going to and having garage sales.

A Memorial service for Millie will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, September 2, 2016 at the Staples United Methodist Church, 310-5th St NE, Staples with Pastor Bob Ford officiating. Interment at Ebenezer Lutheran Cemetery, Oklee, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. A luncheon will follow the service also at the church.
