Maxine Ophus
Maxine Ophus, age 87, of Apple Valley, CA, and formerly of Fosston, passed away on Thursday, December 24th, at Kaiser Extended Care Services in Fontana, CA. A graveside service will be announced and held in the spring. Interment will be in Mamre Cemetery, rural Fosston. Maxine Beverly (Lee) Ophus, daughter of the late Palmer Lee and Mabel (Nelson) Lee was born March 18, 1933, in Duluth, Minnesota. She graduated from Duluth’s Central High School in 1951.
Maxine and her parents were members of the Duluth Gospel Tabernacle where Maxine prayed to receive salvation in 1940 and was baptized in water and baptized in the Holy Spirit in 1942.
Her Christian life and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. Maxine went to be with the Lord on December 24, 2020, in San Bernardino County, California.
Her life will forever be cherished in the lives of her loving and devoted husband of 68 years, Duane Arden Ophus, and in the lives of her three daughters: Sandra Ophus, Cindy Lucas and Renee Ely, her seven grandchildren, her two great-grandchildren, and her sons-in-law.
