Services for Marlis Haubrick

Marlis Haubrick, of Grygla, MN, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the Thief River Care Center in Thief River Falls at the age of 74.

 

A memorial service in remembrance of Marlis will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 13, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN, with Rev. Vicki Saude-Worthington officiating.  Inurnment will follow at the Moose River Cemetery in Gatzke, MN.

 

Visitation will take place one hour prior to the memorial service on Friday at Johnson Funeral Service.

 

Marlis Avon Zimmermann was born on March 26, 1945 in Thief River Falls, MN, the daughter of William and Mildred (Aune) Zimmermann.  She was baptized at the Gatzke church and confirmed at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN.  Marlis attended South High School in Minneapolis.  Marlis grew up near and attended school with her future husband, Fred. 

 

Marlis and Fred were united in marriage on October 7, 1961 in Minneapolis at St. Pauls Lutheran Church.  Together they made their home in the Minneapolis area and raised their children, Jamie and Frank.  Marlis enjoyed longtime work as a home health aide.  In 2001 they moved to Grygla where they retired.

 

Marlis enjoyed cooking, fishing, reading cook books, watching the Minnesota Vikings, and spending time with her family.

 

Marlis is survived by her husband, Fred of Grygla, MN; children, Jamie Dallman of Cody, WY, and Frank (Sharon) Haubrick of Maple Grove, MN; grandchildren, Daniel (Cailyn) Dallman of Cody, WY, Melissa (Daniel) Berg of Wheeler, WI, Troy Haubrick of Red Wing, MN, and Nick Haubrick of Cottage Grove, MN; great-grandchildren, Alexia Dallman, Elijah Dallman, Madison Dallman, and Rebekah Dallman of Cody, WY, Gage Berg, Noah Berg, Abby Berg, and Owen Berg of Wheeler, WI, Thoren Haubrick of Isanti, MN, and Mae Haubrick and Trent Haubrick of Cottage Grove, MN; brothers, Jerome (Camellia) Zimmermann of Richfield, MN and Kenneth (Pat) Zimmermann of Sioux Falls, SD; sister, Renee (David) Filas of Middle River, MN; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-parents; aunts, uncles, and her grandparents.
