Services for Marlin Langseth

Marlin Langseth, 83, of Clearbrook, MN, died on Monday, March 5, 2018 at the Fargo VA Medical Center in Fargo, ND.

 

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Clearbrook, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.

 

He was born September 14, 1934 in Sinclair Township, Minnesota, the son of Ole and Ida (Stenland) Langseth. He attended Birchmont School and graduated from Clearbrook High School. Marlin entered the Army in 1955 and was honorably discharged in 1957. After his two years in the Army, he worked in construction in Indiana, where he met and married Dorothy Smith. They had two children, Leland and Teresa. Marlin and Dorothy moved to numerous states while he worked for CECO. They finally settled in Clearbrook, MN in 1971 where he farmed until he retired. He served on the board for Leon Township. He was also a member of the American Legion. Marlin and Dorothy traveled in the winters after retiring. They moved to Temple, GA the summer of 2014. Marlin moved back to Clearbrook after the passing of his wife, Dorothy. He loved hunting with his nephews, building deer stands, cooking his famous BBQ ribs and legendary lefse, and having coffee at the Lumber Yard, AKA CARS. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.

 

He is survived by his daughter, Teresa (Kurt) Catudal; his grandkids, Katie Briscoe of Temple, GA, Jared (Kaili) Fawver of Clearbrook, MN, and Andrew (Ally) Catudal of Edgewater, FL; his great grandkids, Ethan Summerville, Madeline Briscoe, Olivia Briscoe, Emma Fawver, Isaac Briscoe, Lainey Fawver, Carter Catudal, Hadley Fawver, Evelyn Catudal, and Mak Fawver; his sister, Lois Anzelone; his sister-in-law, Betty Langseth; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Langseth; his son, Leland Langseth; his parents, Ida and Ole Langseth; and his siblings, Dale Langseth, Glen Langseth, and Arvilla Earlandson.
