Services for Marjorie “Marge” Polansky

Marjorie “Marge” Polansky, 78, died peacefully on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Sanford Hospital in Thief River Falls, MN.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Thief River Falls, MN with Father Rick Lambert presiding.  Burial will be at St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Thief River Falls, MN.

Visitation will be Wednesday, October 19, 2016 5 -8 PM with a 7:00 PM prayer service at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls and also one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Marjorie Mae Neppl was born July 12, 1938 in McCauleyville, MN near Kent, MN, the daughter of Harold Andrew and E. Laureign (Bellmore) Neppl.  She started school in McCauleyville and Kent, 1st through 5th grade.  The family then moved to Breckenridge, MN, where she attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Breckenridge, grades 6th through 8th.  She also attended Breckenridge High School.

When she was 17 years old, Marge moved to Moorhead, MN and worked as a nurse’s aid until she married in 1959.  She met her future husband, Eugene at her aunt’s home near Colfax, ND, while he was laying telephone cable. They met when Marge was 18, then, became reacquainted when she turned 20.  He gave her a diamond ring on July 24th.   On October 24, 1959, Marjorie was united in marriage to Eugene John Polansky at St. Frances de Sales Church, Moorhead, MN.  The couple made their home in a brand new trailer in Plevna, MT, moving to Eagle Bend, SD in January of 1960.  Then in the spring of 1960, they moved to Eugene’s family farm by Gatzke, MN after his Dad became ill. They lived there until moving to Thief River Falls in 2004, residing at Pioneer Court. Her health began to decline and in 2012 she became a resident of the Thief River Care Center.

Marge worked at the Steak Knife, starting in 1977, as a waitress for 20 years.  She also worked at Grand Central Graphic’s in Middle River, MN for 3 years, 1997-2000.

She was a member of St. Bernard’s Church, Thief River Falls, MN as well as at St. Cements, Grygla, MN for 47 years. She was a Eucharistic Minister and reader at St. Clement’s for many years, a member of the Ladies Aid and a member of Gatzke and Grygla Senior Citizens.  She traveled to Louisiana, Pennsylvania and Nebraska to see the kids and put many miles on her car.   While at Thief River Care Center she was very active singing in the choir, president of the resident association, and making rugs on the loom.

Marge is survived by children, Mark (Marlene) Polansky, their children: Jacquel (James) Perry, Nicole Polansky, Nathan Polansky, Gavin Polansky, and Danielle Polansky, Rochester, MN, Gary (Laurie) Polansky, their children: Peter (Amy) Polansky, John (Amy Zaoshi Polansky) Polansky, Timothy Polansky, Rebecca (Scott) Moyer, and Daniel Polansky, Gatzke, MN, Cindy (Ray) Scott, their children: Preston Scott and Katie Scott, Red Lake Falls, MN, Paul (Anita) Polansky, their child: Elizabeth Polansky, and Anita’s daughters Lindsey Gonzales and Nicole (Paul) Saville, Grand Island, NE, and Cathy (Godfrey) Friedt, their children: Mary Friedt, Andrew Friedt, Hannah Friedt, and Mathew Friedt, Omaha, NE; great-grandchildren Brody Cozy, Charlotte Rinnhoser, Westan Polansky, Addison Polansky, Austin Polansky,   sisters, Trudy Such, Fargo, ND, Carol (Paul) Lenoue, Breckenridge, MN and Renee (Scott) Rossow, Wahpeton, ND; brothers, Morris Neppl, Ridgeley, WV, Tim Neppl, De Kalb, IL and sisters-in-law Jan Neppl, Wahpeton, ND Marlen Neppl, Fergus Falls, MN, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband, Eugene; parents; brothers, Kenneth, Terry, Richard and  Randy Neppl, sisters Nila Grenz, and Jay Neppl 2 nephews Billy LeNoue, Phillip Neppl, sister-in-law JoAnn Neppl; brothers-in-law Ronnie Helgeson, Ray Such, and Wally Grenz.
