Kelly Richard Julin, age 65 passed away unexpectedly February 20, 2019 at Sanford Medical Center in Bagley, MN.

Kelly was born in Hibbing, MN April 25th to Orvis and Shirley Julin (Schussman).  He attended Bemidji High School and later graduated the Welding Course at Thief River Falls Vocational and Technical College.

Kelly married Lola Kurtz August 26th, 1972.  Together they lived in various northern Minnesota towns where Kelly worked for the following businesses: Ewert Concrete Construction, a self-employed logger and Eveleth Taconite Company.  In September 1984 Kelly, Lola and two young sons, Wade and Todd moved to Bemidji, MN. Kelly worked as a welder at Berge’s Inc. of Cass Lake, MN until becoming disabled in 1987. During the summer of 1993 Kelly and Lola moved to Miles City, MT to help Kelly’s health issues.  With improved health Kelly moved to Clearbrook, MN and since 2008 made his home with Lola in rural Bagley, MN.

Kelly loved the cowboy way of life due to his undying belief of fellowship with family, friends, animals, and the outdoors.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, horses, driving his team of haflinger horses and small town life. He was actively involved with Headwaters Horsemen Fellowship of Christian Cowboys, which provided an outlet for his love of playing music with his friends and doing minor ministerial outreach.

Kelly was very skilled in fabricating and repair.  He spent many hours restoring his Farmall tractors, helping build Wade’s pulling tractor and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Kelly is survived by his wife Lola of 46 years; and two sons: Wade Julin and his wife Lana Schultz-Julin of Bemidji, MN and Todd Julin and his wife Megan of Cotton, MN as well as, his four grandchildren: Haley, Hunter, Adam and Cole Julin; mother, Shirley Julin of Bemidji, MN; his sister, Weezie Johnson and her husband Michael; and two nephews: Trey Johnson of Philadelphia, PA and Brady Johnson of Bemidji, MN.  He was preceded in death by his father, Orvis Julin and brother, Tracey Julin.

He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
