Services for Keith Robert Lorentzen
Keith Lorentzen, 54, of Grygla, MN died suddenly on Sunday, January 24, 2016 at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, January 29, 2016 at Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla, MN with Rev. Vicki Saude-Worthington officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Keith Robert Lorentzen was born on February 19, 1961 in St. Paul, MN the son of Alfred Carl and Katherine (Rasmussen) Lorentzen. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. He attended school in Hopkins and graduated from Eisenhower High School in Hopkins with the class of 1979.
He attended Bemidji State College for three years and drove school bus during the 15 years while living in Bemidji. Keith also worked part-time for a septic service and a well drilling company.
In 1990, Keith was married to Barbara Garthus and they made their home in Goodridge, MN. Keith was currently employed with the Department of Transportation for the State of Minnesota, Grygla Truck Station.
Keith enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, sitting around the campfire partying & telling jokes. He was a man with a heart as big as he was. Keith was friendly to everyone, always willing to help, and loved to visit with family and many friends. After the passing of Keith's mother in 2005, Keith's father, Al moved to Grygla and they purchased a homestead north of Grygla where they have continued to reside. They were best friends and did most everything together including putting on a fireworks display in the Grygla area and going fishing at Frog Rapids Resort in Ontario for many years.
Keith was active with the Grygla Volunteer Fire Department since 2005, serving as Captain and Director of the Relief Association and was a member of the Fourtown-Grygla Sportsmen's Club. For the last several years, Keith has helped organize the Annual Grygla Golf Tournament.
Survivors include his father, Al of Grygla, MN; brother, Dave (Susan) Lorentzen of Leonardtown, MD; niece, Jennifer (Rich) Lovelady and nephew, Mike (Kayla Peters) Lorentzen and their children; uncles and aunts, Richard (Audrey) Lorentzen, Barbara Roub, Donald (Sandy) Lorentzen, Robert (Hope) Lorentzen, Bev (Gene) Detterman, Linda Lorentzen; and many other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother; uncles, Stanley Lorentzen and Ron Roub.
