Kathryn was born on February 27, 1935 at Fosston, Minnesota the daughter of Edwin and Alette (Ostlie) Dunrud. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.  Kathryn grew up in rural Clearbrook on her parent’s farm and spent her grade school years at a one room school house where her mother taught.  She graduated from Clearbrook High School and then attended Nurses Training in Crookston, MN.  Kathryn married Donald Randklev on June 26, 1954 at Clearbrook, Minnesota.  They moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota where they lived for three years.  They then moved to Kansas City, Missouri where they lived for 13 years.  Kathryn worked at the Kansas City Children’s Hospital and Kansas City North Memorial Hospital in emergency and obstetrics. Don was promoted many times, and because of his promotions, their family moved to Ogie, Utah; Denver, Colorado;  Omaha, Nebraska and finally settled in Minneapolis, MN. During her many moves, Kathryn continued her career in nursing.  After the death of her husband on March 27, 1981, Kathryn moved back to Clearbrook to take care of her aging parents.  After her parent’s deaths, she moved to Gonvick and worked at Richards Publishing until her retirement.  Kathryn volunteered at the Good Samaritan Center and at the Gonvick Library.  In 2010, she moved to the Cornerstone Assisted living in Fosston and a few years ago, she moved to Cornerstone Nursing and Rehab.  Kathryn was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clearbrook and enjoyed puzzles, gardening and reading.  Music was a very important part in Kathryn’s life.  She played the piano very beautifully, playing for many various events.  Kathryn enjoyed traveling, she took many bus tours and went on a cruise. But most of all, Kathryn enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her family. Kathryn found comfort in knowing she would be reunited with the love of her life, Donald.
