Services for June Elizabeth (Bjornstad) Bergeson
June Elizabeth (Bjornstad) Bergeson, 84, of Oklee, Minnesota died on Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at her son’s home in Trail, MN.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clearbrook, Minnesota with Pastor Bob Kirchman Officiating. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be held at the Silver Creek Cemetery in Clearbrook, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
June was born on May 20, 1936 in Leyden, North Dakota the daughter of Chester and Gertrude (Resler) Bjornstad. She was baptized July 5, 1936 at Walhalla Lutheran Church in Walhalla, ND. Her primary education was from Pembira County Schools in ND. June married Duane Bergeson on November 1, 1955 in Grand Forks, ND. While living in Hallock, MN, 3 children were born, Richard, Kathren, and Bonny. June and Duane were confirmed together on June 25, 1967 at Maple-Sheyenne Lutheran Church in Harwood, ND. On October 4, 1983, June earned her GED and it was recorded at the Walhalla, ND. School.
June and Duane farmed many years by Fargo, ND and Clearbrook, MN. She worked in Fargo, ND at the VA, where June was recognized for her service. While working there she was a seamstress and issued clothes to Doctors and staff for many years. She had a number of volunteer hours with Elvin & Jewel Erickson traveling with them to sing at various Nursing Homes, Jam Sessions, Rollag, Itasca Pioneer Days, and the Buena Vista Logging Days. June retired to the Pelican Rapids Lakes area and has lived in Oklee the past 20 years, before moving to her son’s residence in July.
June loved farming and farm animals of all kinds, especially her dairy cows. She always raised a big garden, was constantly sewing making her children’s clothes and also made stuffed animals. She enjoyed making crafts of all kinds; wood items, lots of Christmas decorations, embroidering and made home-made gifts for everyone. She took great delight in decorating for the holidays.
She is survived by her son Richard (Linda) Bergeson

She was preceded in death by her husband Duane (1979); daughter-Kathren June Johnson (2019); son-in-law-Wes Johnson; her parents; her brothers-Willard (Doreen), Clarence (Dolly); her infant sister-Leone; nephew-Patrick Bjornstad; brothers-in-law- Donald Bergeson, Darwin Bergeson, Ron Neumann, and Edsel Anderson
