Services for Judy Sather

Judy Sather, 74, of Gonvick, MN died on Monday, November 26, 2018 at the Sanford Bagley Medical Center. 
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Samhold Lutheran Church in Gonvick with Pastor Kris Snyder officiating.  Visitation will be on Friday, November 30 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel. with a family service at 6:30 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Samhold Lutheran Cemetery in Gonvick. 
Judy was born July 16, 1944 at Bagley, Minnesota the daughter of Henry and Ruth (Strand) Nystuen.  She was baptized and confirmed at Samhold Lutheran Church.  Judy graduated from Gonvick High School in 1962 and married Vernon Marmorine on October 19, 1963.  They had two children Michelle and Monte.  Vernon died on April 8, 1999.   Later she met Richard Sather and they were married on July 17, 2004.
Judy lived her entire life at Gonvick, and her main job was a homemaker and housewife.  She was not afraid to get her hands dirty on the farm, being out on tractors, combines, or chasing and working with cattle. Judy enjoyed driving her golf cart and 4-wheeler around on the farm.  Later, from 1985 – 2005, she worked as a housekeeper at Good Samaritan Center in Clearbrook and retired in 2005.   
Judy was a member of Samhold Lutheran Church and the Woman’s NALC, serving as the branch co-chair for the last 4 years.  She was a member of the Women’s American Legion Post # 304 Gonvick Auxiliary and the Clearbrook American Legion Post #256 Auxiliary.  She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for many years.  Judy loved Lutefisk and ate it whenever she had a chance.
She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, game shows, board games, playing cards, going to the movies, and traveling.  Judy spent several winters in Arizona, and in 2002 she traveled to Alaska. She took delight in spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.  Judy had a love for horses and enjoyed riding.  She cherished attending her kids and grandkids sporting events, being their #1 fan.  
Judy was a strong and caring person.  She wanted things a certain way and was very immaculate, nothing less than excellence.  Judy cared about others well-being and put them above herself.  
Judy is survived by her husband – Richard Sather of Gonvick, Minnesota
Daughter – Michelle (Pat) Cummings of East Grand Forks, MN
Son – Monte (Kathleen) Marmorine of Bemidji, MN
Sister – Patricia Nystuen of Bemidji, Minnesota
Step-son - Kirk (Heidi) Sather of Minot, ND
Step-son - Cory (Michelle) Sather of Spring Valley, Minnesota
Grandchildren – Kyle (Chelsey Anderson) Cummings, Jack Marmorine, Noah Marmorine and Kaylyn Cummings.
Step-granchildren - Jocelyn, Carson and Ellie Sather of Spring Valley, Minnesota
Judy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband – Vernon Marmorine.
