Jerry Lee Larsen, 70, of Shevlin, MN, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 10, 2022 at Viking Manor in Ulen, Minnesota.
Graveside services and interment will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Fosston, Minnesota with Crosswire Ministries officiating. There will be a visitation an hour prior. Military Honors will be accorded by the Irvin Blix American Legion Post No. 16 of Bagley, MN. Please bring your own chair for the services. A luncheon will take place at the American Legion Auditorium in Bagley, MN following the services. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
Jerry Lee Larsen was born on April 12, 1952 in Hastings, MN, the son of Roy Clarence and Alvera Mae (Lagerquist). He graduated from Hastings High School and worked for the city of Minneapolis for ten years and for the Donaldson Company in Bloomington, MN. He joined the USS Navy at the age of 31 and served for 6 years aboard the USS Camden and US Midway Ships. After he came out of the Navy, Jerry took a stationary engineer position at Potlatch by Cass Lake, MN. He later worked at Bemidji State University as a stationary engineer for 13 years until he became disabled at the age of 60.
Jerry married Pamela Tweten (Forsberg) on May 9, 1997 at Country Faith Church in Clearbrook, MN. They made their home by Shevlin for the past 25 years. Before becoming disabled, Jerry loved taking his two stepchildren, DeAnn and Darin, hunting and fishing at his home on Wolf Lake, which was his passion. Jerry was a music coinsure with quite an eclectic collection. His biggest pride and joy were his two grandchildren, Remi Mae and Ryder Dean. They were his world and helped him keep going the last two years.
Jerry was a lifetime member of the VFW in Bemidji, a member of the Free Masons, a member of the Disabled American Veterans, and the American Legion in Bagley. Jerry was more than just a step dad, he was a bonus dad and was always there for DeAnn and Darin. He will be tremendously missed.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Pamela Larsen of Shevlin; his two step children, DeAnn Boe of Erskine, MN and Darin Tweten of Eugene, OR; his two step grandchildren, Remi Mae and Ryder Dean; his siblings, Connie (Jeff) Duvlea, Cathy Larsen, and John Larsen, all of Hastings, MN; his aunt, Joann Lagerquist; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many other friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Alvera Larsen; his step brother, Gary Larsen; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
