Jeanette Lorraine Hetland, 84, of Gonvick died on Thursday, February 13, 2020 at the Sanford Fargo Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at the Samhold Lutheran Church in Gonvick, MN at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church. Interment will be held at the Samhold Lutheran Cemetery in Gonvick, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Jeanette Lorraine Hetland was born September 9, 1935 to John and Judith Faldet of Gonvick, MN. Jeannette was baptized October 20th, 1935 at Samhold Lutheran Church. Jeannette graduated from Gonvick High School in 1953.
Jeanette married Carroll Hetland on September 04, 1954. They moved to Aurora/Hoyt Lakes in 1956 where they lived for 8 years. During this time Carroll worked for a mining company and Jeanette was busy raising their growing family. In 1964 they moved back to Gonvick and bought the Hetland family farm.
Throughout her life she worked as a treasurer for the Samhold Lutheran Church, a bookkeeper for the Gonvick creamery, Gully Co-op and Fosston Co-op. In 1975 Carroll and Jeannette began Clearbrook Ag Service, a family business which Jeanette co-managed.
Family was important to her and came above everything else. Her biggest joy in life was to have her family together. She was the best cook in the world, and is famous for her caramel rolls, apple pie, lefse, cookies, and mashed potatoes. Not just an amazing cook, she was also a great conversationalist with insight and a delightful sense of humor.
Jeanette is survived by her children Pamela (Tom) Goebel, Julie (Fred) Sundquist, Randy (d. 2012) Yvonne Hetland, Richard (Marissa) Hetland all of Gonvick, MN. Grandchildren Nicholas (Stacy) Gunning, Lindsey Lamwers, Jessica (Ryan) Kopischke, Joe (Nikki) Goebel, Benjamin (Leslie) Hetland, Bradley Hetland, Reegen Hetland and Brynn Hetland, Derek (Tammy) Loiland. She had 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Brother- Jimmy Faldet, Sister-in-laws Joan Higdem and JeNelle Faldet, brother-in-law Jerry Erickson.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carroll, her son Randy, her sister Carolyn and brothers Jon and Gary.
