Services for James W. Vicory
James W. Vicory, 77, of Clearbrook, MN, formerly of Indiana, died on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at his home in Clearbrook.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 4, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Clearbrook, MN with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will be at Friendship Cemetery in Clearbrook, MN. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
He was born on March 29, 1942 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of William and Mary (Sharp) Vicory. James grew up around the Indianapolis area, graduating from High School there. From 1960 – 1964, he was in the United States Navy. James had a nomadic soul and an unquenchable wanderlust. He moved to Minnesota in the late 1980s, and many years later invited Harriet (née Dodd) to join him in 2010. She agreed and they were married in Minnesota in 2011 and have enjoyed life together in quiet of the woods ever since. James liked to build racing cars and used to race them when he was younger. He loved collecting things and was quite a metal scrapper. He was a good man and will be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Harriet Vicory; his sister, Patricia Pennington of Indianapolis; his step children, Jeffrey Glover, Kathy Glover, Martha Compton, and Penni Spencer; 10 step grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren; and his 5 biological children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Vicory.
