Services for Helen Randall

  Helen Randall, age 93, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Saturday, February 17th, at McIntosh Senior Living in McIntosh. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 23rd, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fosston with Father JohnMelkies Suvakeen presiding. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery Hansville. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church. Helen was born on March 7, 1924 in Superior, Wisconsin to parents Joseph and Agnes Udras. She was baptized, made her first Holy Communion and Confirmed in the Holy Assumption Catholic Church. She attended Bryant Elementary School and Cathedral High School. In 1941, the family moved to Chicago where she attended her senior year and graduated from Waller High School in 1942. She worked at Chicago Cabinet Company after graduation as a secretary until she moved to Brownwood, Texas.
 
She married Elmer Randall on August 16, 1943 who was stationed at Camp Bowie. In 1945 she moved back to Superior when her husband was transferred to Seattle, Washington. She then worked for Dr. T. Doyle as a receptionist.
 
When her husband was discharged from the service in 1946 they lived in Superior, Shell Lake, Wisconsin, and Bemidji. Elmer was a dental technician and they owned dental laboratories in these cities. In 1955, they moved to Fosston where Elmer became employed by Dr. H. Stoplestad in his dental office. After being employed By Dr. Stoplestad for several years he started his own dental lab. He did dental work for dentists in Thief River Falls, Oklee, Bemidji, Bagley and Fosston. He continued to work in his lab until his death in 1977. They had been married 34 years at the time of his death. 
 
She was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She taught Bible school for 15 years; was president of St. Mary’s Guild and group leader for many years; choir member, quilter, served on several committees and volunteered in the office. She was a member of MCCL. She was involved in starting the baby blanket project for the hospital and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She also had worked at Nord’s for several years and at the Elementary School helping in the kitchen lunchroom. 
 
In May of 2016 she became a resident of McIntosh Senior Living. She enjoyed living there and made many new friends. The staff took great care of her and they became like family. 
 
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer; brother, Frank; daughters, JoAnn and Diane; son, James; and grandsons, Matthew and John Paul. 
 
She is survived by two children, Linda (Gary)
