Helen Fisher was born on March 12th, 1926 to John L. Dukart and Elizabeth (Urlacher) in Dickinson ND.  She was baptized in Sheffield, ND.  She grew up 16 miles South East of New England, ND where they were farmers and ranchers. Helen was the second oldest of 5 Siblings.  Her siblings, oldest to youngest, are Katie, Philip, Juliann and Jerome.  They also had a brother named Dominic who went to heaven at two weeks of age.

Helen worked hard on the farm.  She attended a country school until fourth grade and then attended St. Pius Catholic School in Sheffield, ND from fifth grade to eighth grade. Helen lived at Sister School during the week and went home for weekends.  When Helen turned 19 she left the family home and worked at a Hotel in New England as a maid where she cleaned rooms and ironed beddings for $10.00 a week plus room and board.  Helen sent most of her money home to her family.

Helen was united in marriage to Joseph Fisher on November 5th, 1947 at St Pius Church in Sheffield, ND.  They started out in a sod house in Stark County.  After a year, they moved to Billings County, ND, south of Belfield, ND where they farmed for 20 years.  They raised 13 children in their ND home.  In 1967 they moved to a farm NE of Plummer, MN.  They had a grain, beef and dairy farm.  They had 2 more children which completed their family of 15 children, 11 boys and 4 girls.  Helen dedicated her life raising their 15 children, taking care of her home and reading the bible and praying for her children.  Helen also used her special God given gift of playing the organ to serve others.  Besides playing endless hours in her home, many times with her children around her singing, she also played at her church in Plummer MN.  She played by ear and worked hard preparing for each service where she humbly played each Hymn.  Helen never stopped sharing this gift.  She played for residents at Sunview Apartments, where she and Joseph resided after moving off the farm in August 2007.  After Joseph passed away she moved to The Country Place in Erskine, and finally to Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine. She continued to share her talent by playing organ for the residents to the very end.

Helen is survived by 14 children:  Clara (Bruce) Olson, Plummer, MN and her children Sean Everson, Todd Everson, Kelly (Jace) Nelson;  Charles Fisher, Red Lake Falls, MN; James Fisher Santa Barbara, CA; Raymond (Marilyn) Fisher, Plummer, MN and their children:  Emily (Matt) Knutson, Erica (Shannon) Miller, Ryan (Emily Johnson) Fisher; David (Shari) Fisher, Chisholm, MN,  and their children Jessica (Paul) Valento, Corissa (Eric) Raatsi; Thomas (Brenda) Fisher, Thief River Falls, MN and their children Korbi (Chris) Thompson, Hayley Fisher; Linda (Brent) Hemly, Plummer, MN, and their children Lindsey (John) Remakel, Riley (David) Johnson; Gerald (Melanie) Fisher, LaQuinta, CA and their children, Clayton and Cody Fisher; Harvey (Marcie) Fisher, Holt, MN and their grandson Holden Engman; Diane (Jon) Anderson, Twin Valley, MN and their children Michael (Allie) Anderson, Matthew Anderson; Kenneth (Ruth) Fisher, Minnetonka, MN and their children Katrina, Tom, Abby Fisher and Lauren Larsen; Bonnie (Bob) Vidlund, and their children Zachary, Hanna and Cameron Vidlund; Eugene (Renee) Fisher, Chaska, MN and their children Braxten Fisher and Meadow and Meghan Leisen; John (Angela) Fisher, and his children Isabel and Emilia Fisher; 29 Grandchildren, and 19 Great Grand Children with 1 baby due in July and 1 baby due in November, 3 Siblings, Katie, Philip, and  Jerome.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, one son, Paul Fisher, Helen’s parents, sister, Julieann and brother Dominic, son-in-law Bruce Olson.

Helen was a tireless and loving mother, and she carried that passion to her grandchildren.  She never had a bigger smile on her face then when she was holding a grandbaby, and she will be missed dearly by them.
