Services held for Franklin Berg Sr.

Franklin Wayne Berg Sr. age 82, passed away peacefully on December 24 in Northfield Township, Michigan. 
He was born on June 10,1933 in Bagley, MN to Erick and Alma (Lindgren) Berg of Clearbrook, MN. Frank served in the United States Navy from 1952-1956, during the Korean War. After his time in the service he married Phyllis Smith on February 22, 1957. 
Frank worked hard and was a selfless man. He would always help someone out if they needed it. He was a very proud service man who served with the VFW Post 6426 in Trail, MN, Legion Post 603 Gully, MN, Ann Arbor Moose 1253, Ann Arbor, MI, Eagles Order 2154, and Pinckney American Legion Post 419. 
Due to his kindness and generosity Frank went out of his way to help and make others happy. As of March 1984, he resided in Gully, MN. He remained in the same line of work where he met the second love of his life, June Bergh of Gully, MN.
Frank leaves behind his daughter, Debra M. Hilobuk of Pinckney, MI; son Steven W. Berg of Cathedral City, CA; stepson Thomas W.Smith of Ann Arbor MI; sisters Sybil Bergman of Clearbrook MN, and Yvonne "Tulla" Enerson of Little Falls, MN. Frank also leaves behind his grandchildren Andrew, Tracy, Stacy, Elise, along with 8 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his son, Franklin W. Berg Jr.; step-son, Emmett F. Smith; brother, Armand "Sonny" Berg; sister, Norma Emerson; and his parents, Erick and Alma Berg.
His Farewell... Family and friends gathered at Borek Jennings Funeral Home in Hamburg MI on Wednesday December 30, 2015 from ll am-2 pm with his Community Farewell at 2 pm. Services were officiated by Reverend Bill Donahue. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Oak Park Cemetery in Clearbrook, MN.
