Services held for Bud Sorenson

Wilford "Bud" Sorenson, a former Grygla resident, passed away January

21 at Lindstrom, Minnesota.  Funeral services were held January 27 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lindstrom.

Bud was born November 14, 1922 in Grygla to Mollie and Melvin Sorenson.  He attended elementary school in the rural area and graduated from Goodridge High School.  He married the love of his life, Irene Sletten at Grygla and later they moved to Minneapolis where he worked at a couple of steel plants, and part-time as a mechanic.

After a few years they moved with their four children to Lindstrom, where Bud built his farm from scratch with his own hands. During this time he worked for MNDot. When he retired from there, he got a job working with Irene at Hazelton in Center City.

In later years, after Bud retired, he kept busy with various projects in the garage and the yard of their 40 acre farm. He loved classic cars and tractors and could fix anything with a motor. He loved to visit with friends and family over coffee. Volunteering was also important to Bud, as he volunteered for Family Pathways and the local food shelf.  Bud was a proud and longtime member of the Mason's, were he had served as Grand Master.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Raymond and Myron (Jack); sister Katherine, Inez, Myra and Lillian; and grandson Jared.

He is survived by his beloved wife Irene, children Camie, Michelle, Paul and Tim; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
