Services for Gordon A Olson
Gordon A. Olson, 78, of Leonard, MN, died on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at the Sanford Hospital Palliative Unit in Fargo, ND.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Clearbrook, MN at 11:00AM with Pastor Verlyn Strenge officiating. Visitation will be on SATURDAY from 3-5 PM at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bagley and one hour prior to the service at the church. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with the arrangements.
Gordon was born May 4, 1937 in Viking, Minnesota the son of Arthur and Hulda (Grytbak) Olson. In 1948 he moved with his family to Leonard. He attended rural schools through the 8th grade. He moved to the Iron Range and worked as a truck driver for a construction company. At age 18 he went to work in the mines for U.S. Steel and lived in Mt. Iron. He married Karen Everhart on August 11, 1957 in Clearbrook, MN. They lived in Mt. Iron until 1967 when they moved to Bellevue, Iowa. He worked as an iron worker until moving to Leonard in 1976 where he farmed.
He is survived by his wife- Karen Olson of Leonard, MNN
One son- Allen Olson of Leonard, MN
Grandchildren- Amy, Audrey, Amanda, and Seth
Great Grandchildren- Savanna, Daniel, Matthew, Aeris, and Maverick.
