Services for Gladys Hanson Larson

Gladys Hanson Larson of Clearbrook MN passed away at the Knute Nelson Memorial Center in Alexandria, MN on Friday, February 9th.  She would have celebrated her 95th birthday on March 7th.

Gladys is preceded in death by her husband Lester of 60 years.  Also preceding her in death were her 6 sisters, 10 brothers and 1 daughter in-law Julie Brunsberg Larson.

Gladys is lovingly remembered by her 4 sons and 3 daughters:  Darrell (Patsy) Larson of Luton, England, Darlene (John) Vandermyde of Minneapolis, MN, Janet (David) Stambaugh of Mill Creek, WA, Judy (Bill) French of Alexandria, MN, Larry (Pam) Larson of Everett, WA, Jim Larson of Thompson, ND, and Lance (Kathy) Larson of Lakeville, MN.  She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren, as well as 30 nieces and nephews.

Gladys enjoyed traveling.  She was fortunate to travel several times to England, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Washington and Arizona.  She loved playing games and cards with her family and friends.  She also enjoyed cooking, baking, and knitting.  She always looked forward to the family annual tradition of planting flowers in the spring and the annual tradition of Christmas baking with her grandkids and great-grandkids.

In her later years she enjoyed working with her friends at the Senior Center, and was known for her skills at weaving rugs on the loom.  Her last woven rug won grand champion at the Clearwater County Fair this past summer.

There will be a visitation time for family and friends at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clearbrook, MN at 12:30 prior to the Celebration of Her Life service at 1:30 on Sunday March 4th.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Clearbrook/Leonard Senior Center and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
