George “Kenny” Edgar, 74 of Thief River Falls, MN passed away peacefully at his residence with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.
A celebration of life gathering for family and friends will begin at 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the Ralph Englestad Arena, Imperial Room in Thief River Falls, MN.
George Kenneth Edgar Jr. was born January 30, 1949, in Warren, MN the son of George Kenneth and Illa (Pletsch) Edgar. He attended school in Warren, MN where he grew to adulthood. He was lovingly known as “Ken” or “Kenny” throughout his life.
After moving to Thief River Falls, Kenny worked at Arctic for a couple of years, then went to work for Douglas Steiger at Hydra-Mac and Quicor for forty years.
Kenny was married to Denise and to this union two sons were born, Chad and Kyle.
After changing a flat tire for a beautiful lady in 1997, and then hiring her at Hydra-Mac, Kenny eventually married Susan Marie Reinbold Brandt on June 28, 2003, in Thief River Falls. The couple continued to make their home in Thief River Falls.
He enjoyed listening to his Oldies station especially Elvis Presley, watching Dale Earnhardt racing, spending time with Chad watching the Vikings (hopefully win), loved his jigsaw puzzles and old westerns. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and was on a bowling team. He was very talented at woodworking and scroll sawing in which he won numerous awards at the Pennington County Fair. He loved all our family get-togethers.
He can be described as a very gentle, giving, loving person with a great sense of humor. Kenny was a very quiet man who could just roll with the flow.
Survivors include his loving wife, Sue; sons, Chad (Katy Rolland) Edgar and Kyle Edgar; stepson, Tim (Carissa) Sigdahl; Sue’s children, Rhonda Stucy, Shaun (Amy Thode) Brandt, and Shane (Jessie Nelson) Brandt; siblings, John (Michelle) Edgar, Robert Edgar, Linda (Gary) Klegstad, and Diane (Daniel) Mock; grandchildren, Evelyn, Dylan, Kylee, Bayleigh, Levi, Chesney, Presley, Jaxson; many nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.
