Services for Evelyn (Strandberg) Dahl

 
Evelyn (Strandberg) Dahl, 96 of Duluth, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 27th, 2020 at Sunnyside Healthcare Center in Cloquet, MN where Evelyn spent the last nine years of her life.
Born in Clearwater County, February 29, 1924, the daughter of John and Tillie (Wicken) Strandberg, Clearbrook Minnesota.  She married Walter Dahl on May 31, 1960.  She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith.  She attended local school, attended 4-H and Parochial School.  She studied cosmetology at Fargo, North Dakota and Cosmetic Sales Training School in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  She worked at Sportsman’s Lodge, Pine Lake, Split Rock Grill, North Shore, as well in Erskine and Crookston, Minnesota.  She also worked at Iltis Drug, International Falls.  Evelyn worked several years as a Cosmetician and Buyer for Johnson Corner Drug, Bemidji, Minnesota and as a part-time bookkeeper at Young Drug, Grand Forks, North Dakota.
Evelyn’s last years she worked for St. Louis County Social Services helping the elderly and neighbors.  She was considered the “go to” person for anyone in need of help.
As a child she loved to sing, and often sang solo in church and social functions. 
Evelyn enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, canning, making Christmas wreaths, but most of all she loved and cared for her family, they always came first. She had the patience’s of a saint.
She was preceded in death by her parents John & Tillie Strandberg, husband Walter Dahl, brothers Leon, Emil and Alfred Strandberg, sisters-in-law Adele (Leon) Strandberg; Joyce (Emil) Strandberg, Irene (Tom) Graham and brothers-in-law Duane Wagner (Signe); Ron Steile (Sonja); Tom (Irene) Graham; Delmont Dahl and step-daughter Vicky Lynn Dahl.
Evelyn is survived by her sisters Signe Wagner, Darlene (Lyle) Clemenson, Sonja Steile, brother-in-law Darwin (Marge) Dahl; children Joycelyn (Joy) Dahl; John Dahl; step-sons Kal (Jackie) Dahl, Greg (Mary) Dahl, granddaughter Emily (Dahl) Piotraschke and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to especially thank the nurses and staff at Sunnyside Health Care Center for their dedication, compassion and loving care given to her; they are all very special people with the biggest hearts. Also wish to thank the countless people who offered prayer during this time.
Due to the current pandemic a Celebration of Life with family and friends will be held at a later date.
