Ella Molvik, age 94, of McIntosh, MN, died Sunday, October 11, 2020, at McIntosh Manor Nursing Home, McIntosh, MN.
Ella Jean Hillberg was born March 16, 1926, to John and Pearl (Tuntland) Hillberg in Pamplin Hills, Sioux County, North Dakota. She grew up in the Mahnomen, MN, area where she graduated from high school. Following high school, Ella was united in marriage to Roy Gish on December 23, 1945. The young couple made their home in Twin Valley, MN. They later divorced and Ella remained in Twin Valley. In 1976, Ella married Rev. Maurice Molvik and they lived on Mille Lacs Lake for several years. Returning to Mahnomen, Ella moved into the house where she had spent her childhood years. Since 1998, she has lovingly called McIntosh Manor her home.
Over the years, Ella enjoyed spending her time gardening, painting and drawing. She was a great cook and liked to visit with family and friends. In her later years, she looked forward to getting her hair fixed on Fridays and outings and drives in the nursing home van. Ella will be remembered as a sweet lady with a bubbly personality who always offered big hugs. In her book, laughter was the best medicine every time. She will be missed by many.
Ella is survived by a half-brother, Eugene Ferweda of Angora, MN; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Donald Andersen.
Graveside Services wer held on Friday, October 16, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran Cemetery, Mahnomen, MN.
