Services for Donna Weber

Donna Weber, age 81, of Fosston, MN, passed away on Thursday, July 20th, at Essentia Health Hospital in Fosston. A memorial graveside service and interment will held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 29th, at Cleveland Cemetery in Cleveland, ND with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating. Arrangements are with the Carlin Funeral Home of Fosston and messages of condolence may be sent at www.carlinfuneral.com.

 

Donna Mae Mayer was born on January 6, 1936 in Streeter, North Dakota to parents Paul and Dorothy Hottman Mayer. She grew up and attended school in Streeter. She worked on an area farm and at the State Hospital in Jamestown, North Dakota. She also worked at a hotel in Washington and at the Missouri Slope Nursing Home for 15 years where she was known as the “white tornado”. Donna was very clean housekeeper and knew how to do the job the right way. 

 

Donna was united in marriage to Elmer Weber on October 31, 1959. After their marriage, they lived in Cleveland, North Dakota and Jamestown before moving to a farm near Lengby, Minnesota in June of 1969. The family moved into Fosston in 1977 and Donna worked at the Daisy Motel for many years. Elmer passed away on August 17, 1988.

 

After Elmer’s passing, Donna spent time in Washington, Bismarck, and Florida before returning to her roots in Fosston in 2015. 

 

She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, visiting with friends and dancing. She and Elmer liked to square dance and were active in “The Square Steppers” while living in North Dakota. Donna will be fondly remembered for her golden heart and her selfless nature. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. She was a very hard worker, and was known for her good food, especially her German dishes.

 

Survivors include five children, Alan Weber of Florida, Neal Weber of Perham, MN, Lorinda (James) Bardwell of Fosston, Paul (Debra) Weber of Fosston, and June (Tony) Coller of Blackduck, MN; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Jackie (Jim) Ellison of Arkansas, and Betty Gensburg of Bismarck, ND; 4 brothers, Paul Mayer of West Fargo, ND, Alvin Mayer of Fosston, Jessie (Emily) Mayer of West Fargo, ND, and Donny (Joyce) Mayer of Dilworth, MN. Nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; 3 sisters, Delores Tkachenko, Violet Frantl, and Evangeline Pressler; an infant brother, Gordon; sister-in-law; brother-in-law; nieces, nephews and a great nephew.
