Services for Donald J. Knutson
Donald J. Knutson, 60 of Thief River Falls, MN passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Valley Senior Living in Grand Forks, ND.
A gathering time for family and friends will be held from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM with a 3:00 PM prayer service on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN.
Donald James Knutson was born August 1, 1960 in Bemidji, MN the son of Sherman and Frances “Jean” (Roberts) Knutson. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Red Lake, MN. He attended the Mission Elementary School in Red Lake and graduated from Oklee High School.
On October 20, 1979 Don was united in marriage to Toni Flatgard at Salem Lutheran Church north of Oklee. They made their home in the Oklee area where they raised their three children, Cassandra, Dustin and Lee.
He worked several places in the area including Northland Vault Company and Custom Wood Products. Don was part of the Oklee Volunteer Fire Department and EMT Services.
Don enjoyed watching professional wrestling which included his nephew Josh Price “The Minnesota Wrecker” and son-in-law Ox of “The Barking Spiders”. He also enjoyed playing softball, camping & hunting with his family, watching old movies, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Don was as loving and caring as he was strong willed and stubborn. He was always there for his family and would give anyone the shirt off his back.
Survivors include his three children, Cassandra (Trevor “Ox”) Leseman of Carlton, MN, Dustin (Jess) Knutson of Oklee and Lee (Kayla) Knutson of Thief River Falls; grandchildren, Timothy, Kassidy, Ashlynn, Theo and Gemma; siblings, Sherry Ralph of Thief River Falls, Karen (Steve) Linvick of Park Hill, OK, and Moonie (Jodi) Knutson of Holdingford, MN; sister-in-law, Margaret (Bronken) Olmstead of Idaho; nieces & nephews, Jami (Jay Douglas) Habben, Shauna Knutson, Joshua (Joni) Kappes, Sydney Ralph, Sara Swift, Sean Linvick, Terrance Linvick, Dylan Linvick, Lauren (Kyle) Volkers, Keaton Knutson; and many other relatives and friends.
Don is preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Sherman Jr. and Sandy Knutson; brother-in-law, Gary Ralph; niece, Morgan Ralph.
