Services for Diane Carol Smith

Diane Carol Smith, 71, of Clearbrook, Minnesota died on Monday, December 21, 2020 at the Cornerstone Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bagley, MN.  

Funeral services will be held on a later date in the spring when friends and family can gather safely. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.

Diane was born on September 26, 1949 the daughter of Elmer and Helen (Hinman) Johnson.  She was baptized and confirmed at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clearbrook, MN. She attended school and graduated from Clearbrook High School in 1968.  Diane worked at the Good Samaritan Center in Clearbrook for 15 years as a Nurses Aide.  She married David Smith on December 28, 1973 at Watertown, South Dakota and to this union they had 3 boys.  Diane was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Clearbrook and her favorite hymn was “The Old Rugged Cross”.  Diane enjoyed going to the casino and playing Bingo and Keno.  She appreciated talking on the phone and visiting with friends every day.  She loved to read and do word searches.  Diane treasured playing Nintendo and Game Boy with her Grandson Cameron and loved her grandchildren very much.  She especially adored her dogs - Abby the Dachshund and Buddy the Yorkie.  Diane will be remembered for her quick wit and ability to make people laugh. 

She is survived by her husband – David Smith of Clearbrook, MN

Son – Corey (Sherry) Smith of Fosston, MN

Son – Chad Smith of Bagley, MN

Son – Blair (Heather) Smith of Aberdeen, SD

Grandchildren – Cameron Smith, Morgan Smith, Evan Smith, Logan Smith, Jennifer Feitosa Salas.

Aunt – Carol Hallan of St. Cloud, MN

Numerous nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother – Dale.
