Dennis Paul Lundmark passed gently into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016 at his home in Colorado, ending his valiant 46 month battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and loyal friend to many.  He is survived by his wife, Sally Lundmark and sons Rolf Lundmark(wife Jennifer) and Kevin Lundmark(wife Susan), and his precious grandchildren: Sydney, Annika, Peter, Corinne, and Isaac.  In addition a brother, David Lundmark and sister Susan Kampen of Brainerd,MN, and sister Shirlee Allen of Eden Prairie,MN survive him.  His parents and a sister, Sandra Hanke, predeceased him.  Dennis and Sally would have celebrated a 46 year wedding anniversary on 2/11/16.

Dennis was born to Paul G. and Alice J. (Wildmo)Lundmark in Bagley,MN on Aug. 8, 1944.  He was the grandson of early Clearwater County pioneers: Gustaf and Maria Lundmark of Leonard, and Jacob and Sophia Wildmo of Berner.   His father, Paul, ran creameries in Clearbrook, Leonard, Gully, Roseau, and Greenbush.   The family lived six years in Gully from 1951-1957, and Dennis had such fond memories of the years there that he considered himself a "loyal citizen of Gully" the rest of his life.  He graduated from Clearbrook (MN) High School in 1962, attended Brainerd (MN) Jr. College, and graduated with a BA in mathematics from Bemidji State University in 1966.  After completing OTS, he was commissioned in the USAF as one of the original "space nuts".  In 1978 he completed a MBA from UNC in Greeley, CO.  His Air Force assignments included: Omaha,NE; Spokane,WA; Kokha, Thailand; Cheyenne Mountain AFS; the Pentagon; and finally Space Command at Peterson AFB, where he retired in1988.  He then began a new 20 year career with Computer Technology Associates, retiring in 2008.

Dennis was active in Boy Scouts for many years as a scoutmaster, and in Order of the Arrow.  He achieved Vigil Honor and received the Silver Beaver Award.  He and Sally also sponsored many Air Force Academy cadets over the years, with many remaining in close touch as extended "family".

He was a member of Frontier Sportsmans Club and was a hunter and shooter, with many happy hours spent in his home workshop after retirement.

The family expresses heartfelt thanks to Dr. Christopher Lieu and staff in the GI Oncology Dept. at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Center in Aurora, CO for their compassion and excellent care that gave Dennis these last 4 years with our family.  Also our heartfelt thanks are extended to Dr. Daniel Tell and staff at Rocky Mountain Cancer Center in Colo.
